My paintings are a result of a lifetime of travel experiences, a love of art history, a personal sense of joy in the splendor of natural wonders, and the color and light found in everything I encounter.
My life experience is a constant vision of color, contour and texture in everything I see, feel, and remember. Continually viewing and mentally recording the colors and contours of the world around me is a powerful influence as I stand before a blank canvas.
Each of my paintings begins as a memory of somewhere I’ve been, something I have seen, or an artist I’ve admired, and slowly evolves as a finished piece influenced by creative use of color, contour, texture, and emotion.
